VP***: Low voltage + high-voltage end groups
At VP*** level you work on both low voltage and the end groups of high-voltage installations, such as transformers and secondary switch panels. 35 exam questions prepare you for every situation you meet in practice.
What is a high-voltage end group?
An end group is the final outgoing panel where high voltage is stepped down to low voltage or supplied to a specific customer. Think of a 10 kV / 400 V transformer that supplies a building.
Key topics
The VP*** exam covers both LV and HV topics, with an emphasis on the transition between the two voltage levels.
- AAB measurements on the HV side vs SLA on the LV side
- Applying selection devices (SEL) when earthing
- Working on transformers and secondary panels
- Protection and sequence when switching ring mains
Practical example
During maintenance on a T10 transformer you must correctly make the LV side dead (SLA + BA + earthing) and carry out AAB on the HV side before you earth. Our switching programme (schakelbrief) exercises teach you this sequence step by step.
