VP**: Practise advanced low voltage
VP** goes beyond operating: you work on live and shielded parts of low-voltage installations. In our training you practise with 30 exam questions that reflect the complexity of this level.
What can you do at VP** level?
At this level you work independently on installations up to 1000 V AC, including behind barriers. You make installations dead in line with NEN 3140, and you measure and assess distribution boards and switchgear.
- Making installations dead using the five-step procedure
- Working on open distribution boards and distribution cabinets
- Insulation measurements and fuse checks
- Reading and interpreting work permits
Difference from VP*
Where VP* is limited to operating, a VP** may also carry out maintenance and fault repair. You are responsible for carrying out your own work safely, including correctly applying the five safety rules.
Preparation tips
Most candidates fail on questions about CSWS (checking on both sides), phase matching (fasegelijkheid) and insulation measurements. Focus on these topics when you prepare. Our spaced repetition system (SRS) gives you extra repetitions on them.
