Is an online NEN 3140 course recognised?
Important to know: SwitchSkills is a preparation platform, not an exam institute. We do not issue diplomas or certificates ourselves; we make sure you are well prepared. You take the official exam at an exam body, and that is also where you receive your certificate.
Where do you take the exam?
Theory and practical exams for NEN 3140 and NEN 3840 are administered by training and exam organisations. You register with them for the official exam. SwitchSkills prepares you for the theory and, for the person in control of the electrical installation (installatieverantwoordelijke, IV) or of the work activity (werkverantwoordelijke, WV), for the switching programme (schakelbrief).
Certificate and written designation
After passing the exam, you receive the certificate from the exam body; it is usually valid for 3 years. You only become authorised once your employer has also designated you in writing (written designation, aanwijzing). The employer also makes sure your competence stays up to date.
Recertification
If your certificate expires, you take the exam again at an exam body. You can prepare for that with SwitchSkills too.
