VP*: Practise basic low voltage

The VP* exam covers simple work on low-voltage installations up to 1000 V AC: operating, measuring and inspecting. At SwitchSkills you practise with exam-focused questions on every topic the exam covers, with a clear explanation for each mistake.

What do you learn at VP* level?

At this level the focus is on safely operating and measuring low-voltage installations in office and business settings. You learn when an action is allowed and which steps you must always follow to work safely.

  • Operating miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) and residual current devices (RCDs)
  • Measurements on distribution boards in line with NEN 3140
  • Recognising unsafe situations and risks
  • Using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly

Who is VP* suitable for?

VP* suits electricians, technical managers and facilities staff who carry out simple work on existing installations. For more advanced work on shielded parts, choose VP**.

What does the exam look like?

The VP* exam consists of 25 multiple-choice questions. In our training you practise with the same question types, get instant feedback and see exactly what you still need to work on. AI explanations help you understand why an answer is wrong.
