IVWV**: Instructing VPs for low voltage
As an IVWV** you are responsible for supervising and instructing skilled persons (vakbekwame personen, VP) who work on low-voltage installations. Our IVWV** programme prepares you with 30 exam questions and practical instruction cases.
What does an IVWV do at LV level?
An IVWV gives instructions, supervises, checks the work and signs work permits. For low-voltage work the IVWV has final responsibility for the VPs carrying out the work safely.
- Drawing up and assessing work permits
- Giving instruction on making installations dead (SLA)
- Supervising compliance with NEN 3140 procedures
- Reporting deviations and near misses
Person in control of the installation or the work activity?
A person in control of the electrical installation (installatieverantwoordelijke, IV) is responsible for the safety of an installation or part of an installation. A person in control of the work activity (werkverantwoordelijke, WV) is responsible for carrying out specific work safely. One person can hold both roles.
Exam focus
The IVWV** exam mainly tests responsibilities, procedures and legal frameworks. Candidates often fail on questions about liability and the content of work permits. That is where we put extra emphasis.
